Established in 2007, DUFS has its own student-run long/short macro and equity fund.
The Investment Fund Managers follow a top-down macroeconomic tactical asset-allocation approach, which is complemented by bottom-up fundamental analysis by analysts. This ensures a combination of medium and long-term directional positioning, relative value trades, and short-term opportunistic investments through taking exposure to global equities, emerging markets, currencies, fixed income and commodities.
The DUFS Investment Fund Team encourages unconventional ideas outside of the traditional equity long-only spectrum. Lead by two Co-Managers, the Investment Fund includes 5 sectors:
- – North America
– Central and South America
– Emerging Markets
Our emphasis is on learning: our fund gives practical valuation and investment experience to our members, helping them systematically develop and structure high-conviction trade ideas across global markets, value companies and familiarise themselves with risk management, portfolio monitoring and market movements.
With our practical workshops and investment seminars, we aim to give more in-depth knowledge to DUFS members about specific aspects of investment and trading. We invite industry professionals to discuss macroeconomic trends, give workshops about company valuation techniques, to give insights into a specific sector or market, and to debate current topics and emerging trends relevant to the investment community.
