Membership of the Finance Society is free and open to students from all degree disciplines.
We are an employability society, not an academic society. We believe that all degrees offered in Durham provide students with invaluable transferable skills that will enable them to excel in a career in finance. The Finance Society in turn gives our members the tools and experiences that they need to leverage these skills into an internship or job offer.
To become a member, please join our mailing list by filling in the form below. You will receive weekly updates of the opportunities on offer from our sponsors and notifications of upcoming events in Durham. More regular updates are also published on our Facebook group and LinkedIn page.
It is also possible to join via the Durham Students’ Union. This is important if you would like to have a say in how the society is run, vote in Executive Committee elections or apply for a position on the Executive Committee yourself. However, it is not necessary for the vast majority of our members, who follow our social media pages and attend our events.
LEARNING FROM OTHERS
The Durham University Finance Society continuously endeavours to provide assistance to our current members to enable them the best employment chances upon graduation. If you are a current Durham student who has recently completed a Spring Week or Summer Internship, or secured a graduate role, please join our student database so we can help you pass on your advice and knowledge to fellow students. Whether it be a quick email or meeting up for a coffee, all help is appreciated. You were in their position only a year or so ago.
You have no obligation to respond should a fellow student get in touch, and students are only given the contact details of the relevant persons when they show sufficient reason.
